How to Make Affirmations Really Work
Magick often talks about incantations. An incantation is an affirmation but made with full use of emotion and body posture. This can be 1000 times more powerful than affirmations made alone without such focus. What this means is that you need to get into the mindset of the result you want, feel it with full emotion, and adopt a strong, positive body language which expresses that outcome.
For example, it’s not very effective to say “I am strong” with a timid voice and a submissive body posture. It is useful to notice how you make negative incantations that can seriously impair your life. For instance, if you are feeling in the victim role, and you say, “Nothing goes right for me” in a pitiful whine, feeling hopeless, with your head hung low, curled up in a corner, you have made a very powerful incantation to ensure nothing goes right. In a few seconds, you may have overruled hours of positive affirmations. This is the first principle to grasp.
Releasing Secondaries.
The next important principle is that each positive incantation will bring up all contrary beliefs and feelings, which may be stored deep in your subconscious. These are past creations that you havn’t finished with. For example, if you affirm that you are getting rich, all the feelings from past poverty or failures will be triggered. We call these secondary creations. The first appearance of these is doubt. Many people try to push these away and stick with the positive affirmation, but you will find it impossible to hold the positive emotion that raises the affirmation to incantation if you are struggling with contradictory feelings. You will just be pushing the negatives back into the subconscious, instead of releasing them. To release these past creations, you must feel the emotions. By observing and allowing the emotions, you will find they pass after a while. It’s only because you resist feeling that emotions stay stuck. Emotions just need to be felt until they pass. Once they have passed, you come back to the positive affirmation, and then there are no more secondaries arising: the positive feeling stays, and you get the desired outcome. Releasing Limiting Beliefs for Wealth
An important point to remember is that when there are no more secondaries, it only takes 33 seconds to manifest any goal, as that’s how long it takes for all the neurons to fire, so the message is taken into the subconscious. It takes much longer to release the secondaries, particularly when we are so conditioned to avoid feelings. It makes sense therefore, that to get results, more energy should be put into the release of the secondaries than into your primary goal. For this reason, we need to make affirmations that bring up all the secondaries, rather than expect them to instantly create positive belief. Here are some examples that work. Working through each one of these phrases and feeling and releasing the secondaries that come up will clear your subconscious of all resistance to creating wealth and success.
Wealth affirmation techniques
- I need money
Sounds like a negative doesn’t it? However, what it brings up are all the thoughts about not
needing money, greed is a deadly sin, etc. It’s when you lack money you realise how necessary
it is. You can’t do anything without money in this modern world. You can’t learn, create a
business, find somewhere to live, eat or look after your health without some amount of money.
Once you release all the negative conditioning about money, you quietly accept this fact and
have no more inhibitions about manifesting money. Keep using this affirmation until there is
no more guilt or inhibition around money. - There are vast resources available to me.
By resources, I am not just talking about money. It can be information, the right contacts,
basic raw materials that you can create with etc. However, when we have a past history of lack,
this is all we feel and so don’t recognise the resources available to us, or don’t manifest the
opportunity of the information we need to find and use them. What this phrase will bring up is
all those past feelings of lack, and all the times you didn’t get what you wanted. Be sure to
welcome all these feelings until they pass. Then you will find whatever you need to move forward. - I receive all I want.
This will bring up any other feelings of lack and any remaining memories of not getting what
you wanted. It will also bring out the feeling that you have to do everything yourself, rather
than receive. This is another very important point: we don’t succeed entirely on our own.
There is always a level of receiving within our success. This is one point that many people
resist. They can’t receive or feel gratitude because they think it’s a weakness, and puts them
below the ones they receive from. The ego’s one solace is that when it finally succeeds, it can
take all the credit. Be sure to welcome, feel and release all these feelings, until you are fully
comfortable with receiving, and no longer get caught in old feelings of lack. Secondaries can
include resentment, low self-worth, hopelessness, martyrhood, pride, fear and anger. - I am happy to be me.
This is more important than at first you may think, as this phrase is the best one to trigger
all your feelings of low self-esteem, unworthiness, guilt and general inhibition about life,
all of which block your success. The first response to this thought is usually that you really
are not happy with yourself, and with that comes all the reasons why not. This will lead you to
all the memories of guilt for things you did wrong, times you were told you didn’t deserve,
various memories of being made to feel you weren’t good enough, and shame being passed on to
you from others. Welcome and release all these old feelings, and in the case of shame, you may
need to give it back to whoever dumped it on you. - I am valuable.
This one seems pretty straightforward, yet it nearly always meets resistance. Most people just
don’t feel valuable. The first secondary is usually depression. You will need to just feel the
depression before you move on to the memories and feelings behind it. Depression and apathy are
the least understood and hardest to release emotions, just because nobody knows how to deal
with it. They just want it to stop. The point to remember is that you only have to feel it.
Depression, like any other feeling, passes when you have fully felt it. You probably won’t find
any traumatic memories behind it. It’s more a case of never having been given value, so you don’t
even know what it feels like. Value is something we feel as a child when we are loved and
cherished. If you are not loved, held enough, or even wanted, your heart doesn’t get nourished
energetically, so its energy is still low, and you can’t feel that real self-esteem. Just feel
that lack, and the emptiness that comes with it. It too will pass. What you can also do is go
back in meditation to give your inner child all the love it didn’t get. Do this until you really
feel it when you say you are valuable.
Once you have released all these old creations and can feel positive emotion, stand tall,
adopting a confident and positive body posture, and speak your positive incantation with feeling
just once, imagine the positive outcome for just 33 seconds, and watch how your life changes.
